  • Laura created this fabulous gift set from dollar store items. Isn’t it fantastic? It would make a great gift for most people, but especially those that are moving into a new home.

    She used the following items:

    • 1 set of wooden utensils ($1.25)
    • 1 sponge (2/$1)
    • 1 bottle of dish soap ($1)
    • 4-pack of dish cloths ($2)
    • 6 dish towels (packs of 2 for $2)
    • 1 Bottle of lysol wipes ($2)
    • 1 Roll of Ribbon ($1)

She alsoadded a bath and body works soap that she had, but you can buy a dollar store soap instead, if you want.

This great gift was made for under $15! (You can also add a nice plate or cake stand underneath so it looks even better.)

Do you know a special coach? Or a teacher who has really made a difference? Why not tell them you appreciate all they do? A thoughtful, simple gift - created by your child, would do the trick!

Every teacher I know, and every coach as well, uses clipboards - but they are pretty dull. With a little bit of glitter gravel, you can dress up a clipboard quick!

    You will need:

    • 1 clipboard, $1
    • 1 container of glitter gravel, $2 (but you only need a tiny bit)
    • Hot glue
    • Card stock (optional)

This craft is super simple - and can be done by older children all on their own!

    What you do:

Pour about 2 tablespoons of glitter gravel into a bowl. Apply hot glue to a one inch potion of the metal clip on the clipboard.

Press the glitter gravel into the hot glue.

Repeat until the whole clip is covered. Shake over a garbage, and add more glue and gravel where needed. After, you can glue a piece of pretty card stock to the clipboard, if you wish.

Be warned: this is messy. I did it on my own, without the help of my kiddos, and it was still messy! This would be a great outdoor activity, to cut down on the mess you need to clean up.

This stuff stays on remarkably well! My toddler was using it for a scavenger hunt and dropped it on the ground - and it still looks exactly the same as when I finished it.

I believe that it’s so important to show appreciation. Of course, this can be done with words and cards - but everyone likes to receive a gift, and this one is frugal, fun and very easy to make.

Do you have a special teacher or coach in your child’s life?
